The track width and the wheelbase of the vehicle are necessary in order to be able to convert the angles determined by the position sensor into easy-to-understand height measurements. |
The track width is the distance between the two wheel contact points of an axle when viewed from the front/rear. It can be measured by taking the distance between both tires on an axle flush with the outside (on the ground) and subtracting the single tire width from that. With double tires on the rear axle, the measurement is taken from the center of the twin tires. For Stellantis-based panel vans and semi-integrated vehicles (Fiat Ducato, Citroen Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Opel Movano 2024), the track width is 181cm on the front axle and 179cm on the rear axle. |
The wheelbase is the distance between the centres of the front and rear axles of a vehicle. For 3-axle vehicles, the centre between the two rear axles should be used. For Stellantis-based vans (length 5.99m and 6.36m) and semi-integrated vehicles (with standard frame), the wheelbase is 403.5cm. |
