The sensor

We decided not to develop our own hardware, but to use an "off-the-shelf" product.

We chose a microcontroller from "M5STACK" - the AtomS3.

This unit has an extremely small design, contains the necessary position sensor and also has a display that can show status information.

The microcontroller costs around 18-25 euros plus shipping, depending on the supplier.

Notes

The microcontroller is supplied without a USB cable and other mounting material - this can be acquired separately.

The Atomic RS232 Base can be used for installation directly on a 12V line - see Installing the sensor.

The microcontroller is usually delivered with standard/demo firmware. We supply our own firmware, which you must install. This firmware only works with this microcontroller and is not compatible with other devices from M5Stack (or other manufacturers).
